This stunning 1949 Sunbeam 500cc S7 is an iconic classic piece of British motorcycling history. It was designed by Erling Poppe and was first produced in Redditch in 1946 as a completely new concept in motorcycle design. Always looking for better silencing and comfort, Poppe’s outcome was the shaftdriven S7.
Powered by a powerful 500cc engine, the S7 was road tested by “Motorcycling” magazine in February 1946 and did a comfortable 75 mph – a staggering speed back in period.
